DOT Employment Verification
The MVRcheck.com DOT Employment Verification process helps reduce risk, minimize the chance of heavy penalties for non-compliance and stay current with required DOT documentation. Our DOT Verification service verifies information required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) part 391 for driving positions and Department of Transportation (DOT) 49 CFR part 40 for safety-sensitive positions. This service requires a special authorization form from each former employer. The forms confirm prior driving history and previous drug and alcohol testing results.
DOT Requires Driver-applicants to provide to prospective employers:
(1) a list of the names and addresses of the applicant's employers during the three years preceding the date the application is submitted;
(2) the dates he or she was employed by that employer; and,
(3) the reason for leaving the employ of each employer. Under the FMCSA revised regulations, applicants also are required, after October 29, 2004, to identify: (a) whether the applicant was subject to the FMCSA's rules and regulations while employed by the previous employers he or she identified; and (b) whether any of those previous jobs were designated as "safety-sensitive" by any DOT operating agency and subject to DOT's drug and alcohol testing requirements, set forth at 49 C.F.R. Part 40.
MVRcheck will attempt a verification of the applicant’s previous or current Department of Transportation related employment. Special Signed authorization from driver required.
