Security

This Web site takes every precaution to protect our user’s information. When users submit sensitive information via the Web site, their information is protected both online and off-line. For detailed security procedures and protocols click here.

When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software in the industry – SSL. While on a secure page, such as our order form, the lock icon on the Web browsers such as Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Microsoft Edge becomes locked, as opposed to un-locked, or open, when users are just surfing.

While we use SSL encryption to protect sensitive information online, we also do everything in our power to protect user-information off-line. All of our user’s information, not just the sensitive information mentioned above, is restricted in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, our billing clerk or a customer service representative) are granted access to personally identifiable information. Our employees must use password-protected screen-savers when they leave their desk. When they return, they must re-enter their password to re-gain access to user information. Finally, the servers that store personally identifiable information are in a secure environment, behind a firewall. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet or wireless network can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. While we use the latest security protocols and procedures, as a result we can not ensure or warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or from our site, and you do so at your own risk.

What We Do With Our Information

MVRcheck will NOT sell or rent your personal contact information.

We do not intend to collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18.

E-mail addresses may be used to send out periodic product and special announcements from MVRcheck.com. If at any time you do not want to receive additional information from MVRcheck.com, send an e-mail to [email protected] with subject line "remove from MVRcheck.com e-mailing list" and a brief comment as to your reason for being removed from the list.  We ask for a comment only to improve our customer and member service.

Service Providers

We partner with other third parties (government agencies and private database companies) to provide specific services. When the user signs up for these particular services, we share applicant names, or other contact information, SSN, DL number and/or Data of Birth that is necessary for the third party to provide these services. These third parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.

Log Files

Like most standard Web site servers we use log files. This includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, internet service provider (ISP), referring/exit pages, platform type, date/time stamp, and number of clicks to analyze trends, administer the site, prevent account fraud, track user’s movement in the aggregate, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses, etc. are not linked to personally identifiable information. IP addresses are tied to personally identifiable information to enable our Web-based service. We use Google Analytics, StatCounter, Microsoft Clarity and other IP Tracking software for website security and management. Each search order logs the IP Address of the requestor which is used by our security team for fraud prevention.

Your Consent

By using our Web site, you consent to the collection and use of this information by MVRcheck.com. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances we disclose it. You may request details of personal information which we hold about you under the Data Protection Act 1998.
