Human Trafficking Survivor Resources

If you’re a survivor of human trafficking, you may have adverse items of information on your driving record as a result of the trafficking. We can help you through the process of blocking that information on your driving record ordered through MVRcheck.

How to Submit a Request

If you see adverse items of information on your MVRcheck driving record that resulted from trafficking, you can take these steps to block them.

(1) Gather proof of identity and trafficking victim determination documents.

Victim Document: Self-attestation signed by or with an accompanying document that includes a signature by a federal, state or tribal governmental entity; a non-governmental organization or human trafficking task force that is authorized by a governmental entity to make such a determination; consumer advocacy group or a court representative (court document showing victim status).

(2) Complete the Determination form below and attach the required documents.

What happens after you submit your request?

Your request will be processed within 5 business days of receipt of the information. We’ll then email you a statement confirming we’ve completed our review. We’ll include an explanation of our final determination, or let you know if we need additional documentation to process your request. If information is blocked, we’ll send you a free driving record showing the revisions.

Q: Will my information as a victim of trafficking be visible or shared with anyone?

A: Information about human trafficking or any documentation you share with us will not be part of your driving record pulled through MVRcheck.

Q: I provided documentation as evidence that I was a victim of human trafficking. Why is the blocked information still on my driving record?

A: We understand this can be frustrating. If information still appears on your file, it may mean:

  1. We are still processing your request, which can take up to 25 business days.
  2. We determined the information you provided was incomplete and further documentation or information is needed to process your request. We’re here to help if you have questions about what information you need to provide.
